In this report the process and learnings of requesting building and environmental permits will be explained for the following four Member States: The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France. Besides the process of requesting the permits, this report will also highlight some important lessons learned per Member State.
Before being able to start building an LNG filling station, a permit needs to be granted from the government of the designated country. Besides the building permit, an environmental permit is needed as LNG is classified as dangerous goods. In most countries when an environmental permit is needed as well as a building permit, the process of requesting both permits is merged into one process. It will be considered per Member State in this report both permits are needed and whether the requesting process is merged into one process.
